Zero Gravity Pictures (ZGP Motion Pictures pvt. Ltd) is a Production house and a content development company based in Mumbai, India. The company is currently engaged in the production of a slate of feature films which includes Hindi feature films and couple of international co-productions (English)with collaborators from India, UK, Europe & the US. The company is also involved in developing a web original series for a major streaming platform. Our Hindi feature films are Rodent (Dir: Aditya Bhattacharya) Check Point Charlie(Dir: Shivam Nair) Dad (Director NYF)The Wedding Guests(Director NYF), Jiss Raat Ki Subah Nahin (Director NYF) & Our International Co-production ‘The Maharajah’s Children’(English)Director: Rafael Kaplinski
Besides this there are several other scripts in development, among them are our web series KAAND(Director Sangeeta Balachandran) & MAD (Director Hemal Trivedi) and Wanderers, a web series which is in development.
We are producing some of our films in JV with other producers & production houses as we believe collaboration is the way forward in today’s market and we remain open to exploring collaborations, both for Hindi/Regional films & International film projects on interesting scripts.
Founder's Background
Imtiaz Barolia is an alumnus of California Lutheran University, Los Angeles, where he did his MBA in International Marketing followed by a scholarship to Japan on International business.
While in Los Angeles he worked for few years with Anchor network-as subject & story, market research Intern. Working on several big-ticket Hollywood films for a couple of years
Eventually he returned to India and won a British council Chevening scholarship to UK, Cardiff, Wales and studied documentary film making with veteran BBC producers Ian Masters & George Arwell
He worked for several years in India, as an independent television producer, writing & producing Television series for almost all the TV networks which was followed by a 5-year stint as Sr. Commissioning Editor at Entertainment one (GEC) during which he produced & Broadcast over 1500 hours of content, on diverse subjects like women’s empowerment, Human Rights, Indian Mythology and a comedy series.
He then worked as a consulting producer/associate producer with Blood Orange Media Minneapolis on a six part International series INDIQUE, showcasing contemporary Indian Lifestyles to the world, which won several awards at numerous festivals across the world and was broadcast on PBS America in the US & Zee Café in India.
He also he made an episodic series on the Automobile Emissions & Environment : Green Solutions, broadcast on BBC Wales
He currently works at ZGP Moton Pictures Pvt ltd as Creative Director & Producer.
Rodent, The wedding Guests, Check Point Charlie, Dad, The Maharajah’s children(International co-production)are some of the current slate of films ZGP is producing apart from couple of a web series MAD & K.A.A.N.D. for streaming platforms . Rodent & TMC being International collaborations.
